The Program
The Center is managed by Center Management Associates. The children are
divided in groups according to developmental age, ranging from 6 weeks* through 4
years old. (*Check location for age groups.)
The Preschool program concentrates on fostering initiative, creativity and
thinking skills through a program of activities that will enhance the children's
abilities to communicate, solve problems, practice interpersonal social skills,
and imagine experiences for themselves with self-confidence.
The Staff
Supervision, care and education are provided by carefully selected staff
members. Each classroom is headed by a teacher who has specialized in
early childhood education and has experience with the appropriate age group.
Pre-service orientation is provided to all personnel regardless of previous
experience.
Admittance
Children's Corner Nursery School is open to all children, regardless of race,
creed or ethnic origin. An interview is required for admittance.
Parents and staff will discuss a plan for helping new children adjust to the
Center. The plan may include pre-enrollment visits, continued contact and
meeting with parents and relatives, therefore gradually bringing in new children.
For a child to be admitted, the parents must complete and sign the forms
presented by the Center, including:
- Registration form
- Health form (including lead test)
- This policy statement
- Other forms necessary to assist the facility in caring for your child
No child will be admitted to the Center without all of the above forms, which
are required by law. In addition, Children's Corner, at all times, holds
the right to deny child care enrollment at any time prior to or during the
actual enrollment.
Should a parent display inappropriate behavior at any time within the day
care facility, management reserves the right to immediately terminate the
contractual day care agreement with that parent/parents.
Tuition Policy
Fees
At the time of actual enrollment, each application must be accompanied by a
non-refundable Registration Fee and a non-refundable Materials Fee (to be billed
on a yearly basis). Parents whose children are enrolled in the Nursery
School or Extended Day Programs that opt to enroll their children in our Summer
Program will incur an additional $50.00 Registration Fee.
Deposits
A one (1) month deposit is also required upon enrollment. This deposit
will be refunded to you in full after payment for your child's last month at
Children's Corner Nursery School has been paid. Any balanced due the
school will be deducted from the deposit.
Since Children's Corner is a 12-month school, parents have the option of
enrolling their child in our summer program. Should the parent opt not to
enroll the child for July and August, tuition will be waived. However, the
deposit will be carried over to the new school year in order to hold the spot
for September enrollment.
Payment of Tuition
Besides the initial one (1) month deposit payment, you will be billed on a
monthly basis during the year. If the child is enrolled mid-month, the
child's tuition will be calculated accordingly. Tuition is due the first
(1st) of each month. Payments made after the 5th of the month will incur a
$25.00 penalty.
If a parent falls one (1) month behind in payment of tuition fees, the child
will not be allowed to attend the Center until such time as payment is brought
up to date. The child's place will not be held. Each case of non-payment
will be reviewed on an individual basis before dismissal occurs.
There are no refunds for days missed due to illness, vacations or school
closings due to inclement weather. Also, deposits cannot be used against
vacation time or any other additional fees.
Make-Up Days / Extra Days
Make-up days and/or switching of days are not allowed for days missed due to
vacation, illness or school closings (i.e. holidays, inclement weather, etc.).
A child may be brought in on a day he/she is not enrolled only upon clearance
from management and with the understanding that there will be a current fee
incurred for the time the child is in.
Withdrawals
If a child must be withdrawn during the year, a one (1) month written notice
must be given to the center or else parents will be charged for that period.
Since Children's Corner is a monthly school, herein the term "monthly" refers to
the 1stof any given month through the 1st of the following month. Should a
child be withdrawn from the program mid-month, tuition will not be pro-rated.
A new registration fee, materials fee and deposit will be required should the
child re-enroll at a later date.
